Teen cyclist injured after being struck by vehicle in Putnham

PUTNAM — A car and bicycle collision on Church St. near Morse St. injured a 15-year-old cyclist on Nov. 27 at approximately 3:33 p.m., according to the Putnam Police Department.

Corey Florence, a Putnam resident, was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry southbound on Church St. when the accident occurred.

The juvenile, also heading south on Church St., was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.

The collision happened when the cyclist left the sidewalk at the intersection of Morse St. and rode into the passenger side of the vehicle due to a mechanical malfunction with the bike.

Putnam Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, provided an assessment, and transported the juvenile to Day Kimball Hospital with minor injuries.
