Woman arrested for second DUI after speeding on I-89 in Burlington

WILLISTON — A South Burlington woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she was caught speeding on Interstate 89, Vermont State Police reported.

Kayla Wingfield, 31, was apprehended on Nov. 27 after a trooper clocked her vehicle traveling at 86 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone near the Williston Rest Area.

The traffic stop occurred on I-89 Northbound, just before Exit 12, around 3:30 p.m.

During the stop, troopers observed signs of impairment and arrested Wingfield for her second DUI offense.

She was taken to the Williston Barracks for processing.

Wingfield is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Criminal Court on Dec. 17 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges.
