MERIDEN — A former Lincoln Middle School Climate Specialist was arrested on Nov. 21 after turning herself in to authorities, the Meriden Police Department reported.
Tamara Johnson, 37, was charged with one felony count of Risk of Injury to a Minor/Impairing the Morals of a Minor following a Special Crimes Unit investigation into inappropriate text messages exchanged with a student.
The investigation, which began Oct. 29, involved multiple interviews and forensic analysis of cell phones, leading to an arrest warrant that was subsequently granted.
Upon her surrender to the police, Johnson was released on a court-set $25,000 surety bond.
The date for her first court appearance has not been provided.
The Meriden Police Department emphasized its commitment to thoroughly investigating any crimes against children and maintaining safe educational environments in partnership with the Meriden Public Schools and Meriden Board of Education.
