BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested two individuals Tuesday morning following a report of a person with a gun and the recovery of multiple stolen mopeds.
At about 8:36 a.m. on Nov. 26, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) apprehended Sebastian Fecu, 22, of Dorchester, and Nakeda Strothers, 32, of Roxbury, on assault and larceny charges.
The police response was initiated after a report of a person with a gun at 25 Calder Street.
The victim, who had tracked his stolen moped to 22 Abbot Street, informed officers that he and a friend were able to recover their stolen mopeds.
Shortly afterward, the two suspects, dressed in all black, were seen attempting to retake the mopeds at the same location.
They threatened the victims and displayed firearms tucked in their waistbands.
Upon arriving at 22 Abbot Street, officers observed numerous mopeds and trash barrels filled with moped parts.
Inside a residence with an open door, police detained four individuals, two of whom were positively identified as Fecu and Strothers and placed under arrest.
The other two individuals were released, and the premises were secured for a search warrant.
The Auto Theft Unit seized several mopeds and moped parts from the scene, and one of the stolen mopeds was returned to its rightful owner.
Fecu and Strothers face charges of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Gun, and Larceny of Auto Acc. Over $250.
They are scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
