Worcester police arrest two for fentanyl trafficking

WORCESTER — Two individuals were arrested by the Worcester Police Department’s Vice Squad for alleged fentanyl trafficking following a surveillance operation on Lincoln St.

On Nov. 26, at about 10:40 a.m., officers observed what seemed to be a drug transaction between Samantha Olney, a 32-year-old resident of Chandler St, who was on foot, and Josue Maria, a 25-year-old from Fraternal Ave, who was in a black Honda.

The police apprehended Olney and reportedly found a significant quantity of suspected fentanyl in her possession.

She was promptly taken into custody.

Maria was also stopped by the officers and arrested.

Maria faces charges for trafficking a Class 18 substance, specifically 18-36 grams of fentanyl, and distribution of a Class A substance.

Olney has been charged with trafficking in a Class A substance, also within the 18-36 gram range of fentanyl.

Both suspects are currently being held as the investigation continues.
