Police seek help identifying suspect in counterfeit bill case at Jeffersonville gas station

JEFFERSONVILLE — Vermont State Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who allegedly passed a counterfeit $50 bill at the Madonna Mobil in Jeffersonville.

The incident occurred late Friday night, and the suspect’s image has been captured on the gas station’s surveillance cameras.

Authorities have yet to determine the identity of the man involved in the false pretenses violation.

Trooper Cote of the Williston Barracks is spearheading the investigation and urges anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.

The photograph of the male suspect has been distributed in hopes that members of the community might recognize him.

Counterfeiting is a serious crime that can significantly impact local businesses.
