NORTH TROY — A hit-and-run incident late Thursday night left a local resident’s property significantly damaged, authorities reported.
At approximately 10:12 p.m., Vermont State Police were alerted to an accident on Dominion Avenue where a vehicle had veered off the road, damaging fencing and an antique farm implement on the property of Ann Phillips, 58, of North Troy.
The offending vehicle, believed to be an SUV that may include models such as a Toyota RAV4, Ford Explorer, or Jeep, reportedly fled the scene with front-end damage.
A second vehicle, described as a lighter-colored car, was seen following the SUV and may have witnessed the incident.
Both vehicles are suspected to have departed from the American Legion around 10 p.m.
