TAUNTON — Police Chief Edward Walsh announced Monday that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the early hours of the morning.
Authorities were called to Morton Hospital at 88 Washington St. around 2:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot victim seeking medical attention.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 38-year-old man from Taunton with multiple gunshot wounds.
The injuries were serious but not life-threatening, and the victim was later transferred to a nearby hospital for additional care.
The shooting is believed to have taken place near 31 Winthrop St. Detectives from the Taunton Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
