St. Johnsbury man arrested on active warrant

ST. JOHNSBURY — A routine patrol led to the arrest of a local man wanted on an outstanding warrant from Washington County.

Brandon K. Sheltra, 29, was taken into custody without incident by officers from the St. Johnsbury Police Department on Nov. 25.

Detective Sgt. Lester Cleary reported that Sheltra was processed and appeared in court later that day at 12:45 p.m.

Sheltra, a resident of St. Johnsbury, was identified by police while they were conducting patrols in the area.

The warrant for his arrest was previously issued in Washington County for undisclosed reasons.

Following his arrest, Sheltra was seen by the court the same day.

He is scheduled for a subsequent court appearance on Nov. 26 at 12:45 p.m. It is not reported that Sheltra was lodged in jail, but a mug shot was taken following his arrest.
