EDEN — Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on Carolyn Lane on Nov. 19 at 3:50 p.m.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old homeless man Mark Creedy, had fled the scene before authorities arrived, according to the Vermont State Police.

An investigation revealed that Creedy forcibly entered the home of Rose and William Mace of Hyde Park, causing damage to the property.

Creedy was apprehended on Nov. 22 for a separate, unrelated burglary and was subsequently lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.

The suspect has since been issued conditions of release and is scheduled to appear at the Lamoille County Superior Court on a later date to face charges related to the Eden incident.
