CAMBRIDGE — A Florida woman was cited for leaving the scene of an accident after she allegedly backed into a display at Cambridge Village Market, causing it to fall onto another vehicle, Vermont State Police reported.

Nataliya Westervelt, 45, of Live Oak, FL, is accused of causing the crash that resulted in significant damage to the vehicle of Penny Bouchard, 60, of Johnson.

The incident occurred on Nov. 22 at approximately 1:29 p.m. when Westervelt reportedly hit a wooden bear display while maneuvering into a gas pump.

Witnesses at the scene were able to provide authorities with a license plate number and description of Westervelt’s vehicle after they saw her attempting to leave the market without reporting the collision.

No injuries were reported at the time of the crash.

State troopers later located Westervelt and her damaged vehicle at her residence.

She was issued a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court Criminal Division to face charges for Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
