CHICOPEE — Two individuals were admitted to Baystate Medical Center’s Emergency Room with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning, prompting an investigation that revealed the shooting occurred in Chicopee.
According to authorities, the victims arrived at the hospital around 2:30 a.m. In line with hospital policy, Springfield Police were notified of the incident.
Investigators determined the shooting took place on Center Street near the city line in Chicopee.
After being alerted to the situation at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Chicopee Police Detective Unit responded to the scene and discovered several shell casings.
Both victims received medical attention for their injuries and are expected to make a full recovery.
The Chicopee Police Department has classified this as an active investigation and urges anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
