GEORGIA — A St. Albans man was cited for retail theft after allegedly stealing various items from a Dollar General store in Georgia, according to the Vermont State Police.
Authorities reported that Richard Giroux, 36, was identified as the suspect who entered the store located at 864 Ethan Allen Hwy on Nov. 9 at around 6:49 p.m. and took merchandise without paying.
The stolen items included a bookcase, two end stands, two cube shelves, two side tables, and two sodas, with a total value estimated at approximately $215.
After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting an inventory check, Dollar General confirmed the loss of the items.
Giroux was subsequently located and issued a citation to appear in the Franklin County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Jan. 14 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges related to the incident.
