Two-car crash in Bristol leads to injuries, total vehicle losses

BRISTOL — A two-vehicle collision on VT Route 116 resulted in suspected moderate injuries and significant damage to both cars involved, according to Vermont State Police.

The crash occurred at around 5:22 p.m. on Nov. 22 near the intersection of VT Route 116 and Drake Woods Road.

Authorities report that Steven B. Bliss, 73, of Burlington, was driving a 2023 KIA Sportage southbound when he missed a left turn due to inclement weather involving rain and fog.

Bliss attempted to turn around on the wet roadway and stopped as Peggy E. Adams, 74, of Starksboro, approached from the north in a 2020 Buick ECR.

Adams’ vehicle struck the Sportage, causing both vehicles to come to uncontrolled rests with totaling damages.

The passenger in Bliss’s vehicle, whose identity was not immediately released, was transported to the UVM Medical Center for treatment of suspected moderate injuries.

There were no injuries reported for Adams.

Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Vermont State Police, assisted by Bristol Police Department, Bristol Fire Department, and Bristol EMS, are investigating the incident.
