SPRINGFIELD — A single-vehicle crash led to the arrest of a Springfield man on charges of driving with a criminally suspended license and an outstanding in-state warrant, according to the Springfield Police Department.

Shad S. Wright was taken into custody around 1 p.m. on Nov. 8 after Officer Callahan responded to the crash at 284 River Street.

A subsequent check revealed Wright’s license was under criminal suspension, and he had an active arrest warrant.

Wright was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Nov. 12 to answer to the charges.

The police emphasized that decisions regarding bail and incarceration are under the purview of the judicial system, not the police department.
