NEWBURY — A man from Concord, New Hampshire, was arrested after repeatedly walking in the middle of the road and resisting law enforcement efforts to take him into custody on Friday morning, Vermont State Police said.
Douglas White, 34, was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct, impeding public officers, resisting arrest, and violation of conditions of release after troopers responded to calls about a man obstructing traffic on Wallace Hill Rd and Leighton Hill Rd around 8:06 a.m.
Troopers initially advised White to stay out of the road for his own safety but continued to receive reports of him blocking traffic.
When they attempted to arrest him for disorderly conduct, White resisted and interfered with the officers’ efforts.
In addition to the charges, White was also found to be in violation of a court-ordered curfew.
Following his arrest, he was released with a citation to appear in Orange County Criminal Court on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m.
