Man arrested on suspicion of DUI after single-vehicle crash in Warren

WARREN — A 71-year-old Sarasota man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his car crashed into decorative shrubbery late Thursday night, according to Vermont State Police.

John King was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred at the intersection of Brook Road and Main Street at 11:44 p.m. amid rainy conditions and wet roads.

Troopers from the VSP Berlin Barracks responded to the scene where they found King’s 2006 Volkswagen Jetta at rest with suspected minor damage.

During the investigation, troopers observed signs of impairment.

King, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was not injured.

He was transported to the Montpelier Police Station for processing and was later released with a citation.

King is scheduled to appear in the Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Dec. 12 to answer to the DUI charge.
