ST. JOHNSBURY — A heavy presence of first responders converged on the Northeast Kingdom Human Services building early Friday morning after reports of a potential threat.
State Police, along with the St. Johnsbury Fire Department and Calex Ambulance, arrived on the scene around 9:30 a.m. to address concerns about the safety of the facility and its occupants.
Authorities swiftly evacuated the building and conducted a thorough search.
Following the investigation, State Police announced that the building was secure and that there was no evidence of a credible threat to the structure or the staff within.
Employees were allowed to return to their posts after officials declared the area safe.
The incident caused a temporary disruption to the services provided by Northeast Kingdom Human Services but operations have since returned to normal.
The State Police are continuing to investigate the nature of the threat and are working to determine its origin.
