SWANTON — A single-vehicle crash on Highgate Road led to a DUI drugs citation for an Essex man on Thursday afternoon.
At 2:24 p.m., Vermont State Police troopers from the St. Albans barracks responded to the crash in Swanton.
They found a 2014 Honda Civic with deployed airbags at the scene.
The driver, Robby Robar, 41, of Essex, was transported to Northwestern Medical Center for precautionary treatment of minor injuries.
While at the hospital, troopers observed signs of drug impairment and issued Robar a citation for DUI drugs.
The Honda Civic was totaled in the crash, which occurred during rainy conditions on wet roads.
Robar was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.
