PROVIDENCE — A 26-year-old Providence man faces multiple drug and firearm charges following his arrest Thursday by members of the HIDTA Task Force.
Felix Cortes of 760 Manton Avenue was arrested Nov. 21 and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation, and possession with intent to deliver cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.
He was also charged with possession of large-capacity feeding devices.
Cortes was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
He was then transferred to the ACI Intake Center pending a morning arraignment in Sixth Division District Court.
The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program is a federal initiative that provides assistance to law enforcement agencies in designated areas.
