Methuen residents face power outages as downed tree topples poles

METHUEN — A large tree has fallen on 147 Tyler Street, bringing down four utility poles and causing power outages in the area, Methuen Police Department reported.

The incident has affected Tyler Street as well as adjacent streets, according to an attached map provided by authorities.

National Grid, the Methuen Tree Department, and Methuen Highway Department have been notified and are currently responding to the situation.

Officials have announced that the road will be closed and traffic detours will be set up as crews work to clear the debris and repair the damage.

Residents are advised to seek alternative routes and to stay clear of the affected area.

For those impacted by the power outages, National Grid has estimated that electricity will likely be restored by approximately 7 a.m. Citizens are encouraged to check with National Grid for more accurate and up-to-date information regarding the power restoration timeline.
