WESTBROOK — A Yarmouth man faces drug charges after police responded to reports of an armed individual in a residential area Tuesday.
Westbrook police received a call about a man with a rifle on North Street at approximately 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers quickly located and detained the suspect, identifying the weapon as a realistic-looking pellet rifle.
During the investigation, police discovered illegal drugs and cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales in the man’s possession.
George Sullivan, 53, of Yarmouth, was arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, and violation of conditions of release.
Sullivan was transported to Cumberland County Jail following his arrest.
