GARDINER — Maine State Police are investigating a suspicious call that led to the temporary closure of a medical facility on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred when an adult male left a voicemail at MaineGeneral Gardiner outpatient facility, located at 5 Central Maine Crossing, expressing frustration and making comments that staff found concerning.
Upon hearing the voicemail, the facility’s management decided to shut down operations for the day and informed law enforcement of the situation.
Following the incident, the individual who made the call voluntarily admitted himself to a local hospital for evaluation.
Authorities have not released additional details about the nature of the voicemail or the identity of the caller.
