Two-car crash in South Yarmouth leaves one overturned

SOUTH YARMOUTH — A Yarmouth police officer was heading north on Forest Road just after 9 a.m. Wednesday when she witnessed a two-car crash at the intersection of Forest Road and Long Pond Drive.

The collision, involving two sport utility vehicles, resulted in one car overturning onto its roof.

The officer immediately radioed for emergency assistance.

Yarmouth Fire and Police departments responded rapidly, arriving on the scene to aid the occupants and direct the flow of traffic.

While emergency crews attended to the situation, the roadway was shut down temporarily.

All three individuals involved in the accident were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was cleared after a brief period and subsequently reopened to regular traffic.
