Five more arrests in Portland hooting, one suspect at large

PORTLAND — Portland police have made five additional arrests in the aftermath of the July 30 shooting on Forest Avenue, bringing the total number of individuals charged in the case to six.

The most recent arrests include:
Kaleb A. Cidre, 22, of Windham, Maine
Jason J. Keenan, 45, of Bath, Maine
James D. Moody, 30, of Bowdoin, Maine
Caleb S. Pelkey, 33, of Portland, Maine
Nathan T. Walsh, 48, of Lewiston, Maine

Each of the suspects has been charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Elevated Aggravated Assault and two counts of Elevated Aggravated Assault.

These arrests follow the detention of Aaron Karp, 47, of Naples, who was taken into custody on Aug. 8 and charged with the murder of Susan McHugh, 54, of Gray.

Karp is being held at Cumberland County Jail without bail.

Authorities are still pursuing Kristofer G. Haken, 45, of Londonderry, N.H., who remains at large.

Haken is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

He is considered dangerous and potentially armed.

Haken is thought to have ties with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

The Portland Police Department is actively seeking tips from the public to locate Haken and requests that anyone with information call (207) 874-8575.

Anonymous tips can be sent by texting the keyword PPDME and the tip message to 847411.

Officials have not disclosed any additional details regarding the ongoing investigation.
