SPRINGFIELD — On Nov. 15 at approximately 6:35 p.m., Springfield Police C3 officers arrested 45-year-old Nemlon Adams and seized a loaded firearm following a traffic stop.
Officers from the specialized C3 Unit observed a vehicle with a suspended registration at a gas station on the 600 block of Main Street.
Upon approaching the car, they conducted a traffic stop and identified Adams as the driver.
Adams was informed that his vehicle would be towed due to the lack of registration.
During the search of the vehicle prior to towing, officers discovered an illegal loaded firearm hidden under the driver’s seat mat.
Adams, who had a prior conviction in Connecticut in 2000 in connection with a murder, was taken into custody without incident and issued a citation.
Adams, a Manchester, Connecticut resident, faces several charges including carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and a firearm violation with one prior violent or drug crime.
