KINGSTON — A special education teacher from Raymond was charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child and assault following an investigation by the Kingston Police Department and local school officials, authorities said Tuesday.

The Kingston Police Department, in conjunction with the Sanborn Regional School District and the New Hampshire Division for Children, Youth, and Families, initiated the investigation on Oct. 28 after receiving allegations of physical abuse at Bakie Elementary School.

Detective Gina Whitford and School Resource Officer Patrick Schiavone led the inquiry, interviewing several school staff members and administrators.

Subsequent findings led to the establishment of probable cause, resulting in an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Aimee Ragonese.

Ragonese, who was informed of the warrant along with her attorney, surrendered voluntarily to police.

She faces seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child and four counts of simple assault, with the alleged victims ranging in age from 6 to 9 years old.

Following her surrender, Ragonese was released on personal recognizance bail, with a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 28 at the Brentwood Circuit Court.

The investigation remains active as Kingston Police continue to work closely with school district officials to resolve the case.
