GRAFTON — The Grafton Fire Department swiftly controlled a structure fire at a local workshop on Monday, preventing the blaze from causing extensive damage.

At 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 18, firefighters were dispatched to 26 North Street after reports of a fire.

The department deployed 25 personnel, including three engines, one tower ladder, three command vehicles, and two specialty units to tackle the emergency.

Upon arrival, the first unit on the scene, Car 5, successfully subdued the flames with an extinguisher.

This quick action contained the fire to the exterior of the detached workshop and prevented it from advancing into the interior.

The fire was brought under control within five minutes.

However, crews stayed on site until 4 p.m. to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and to check for any potential spread of the flames.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the fire department.

Fortunately, there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.

The Grafton Police Department established a secure perimeter around the scene to ensure the safety of both the rescue workers and the public.
