Two Rhode Island men arrested on separate charges by state police

SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Troopers conducted two separate arrests on Saturday, both resulting from vehicular incidents.

In the first incident, Stephen Ahlert, 34, of Providence, was taken into custody at 11:45 a.m. following a traffic stop on Harris Avenue.

Ahlert was arrested on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant from the Pawtucket Police Department for Domestic Simple Assault.

After processing at State Police Headquarters, Ahlert was transferred to the custody of the Pawtucket Police Department.

Later the same day, at 3:50 p.m., Richard Panciera, 55, of Johnston, was arrested by Troopers for Reckless Driving after they responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 295.

Panciera was processed at State Police Headquarters, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a summons to appear in court at a later date.
