Southbridge shooting leads to arrest, juveniles hospitalized

SOUTHBRIDGE — A shooting incident on Dennison Drive led to the arrest of a local man and the hospitalization of two juveniles, authorities said.

Southbridge Police were dispatched to the scene on Saturday at about 5:45 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

Officers found multiple shell casings in the driveway of a residence upon arrival.

During their investigation, police were notified that two juvenile victims were receiving treatment for gunshot wounds at UMass Memorial Health – Harrington Hospital.

The youths, whose injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, were later transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus in Worcester as a precautionary measure.

Police have withheld further details regarding the victims due to their age.

Detectives from Southbridge Police, with the help of Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services, crime lab staff, and a ballistics K9, arrested 19-year-old David A.

Adorno of 584 Dennison Drive.

Adorno faces multiple charges, including two counts of armed assault to murder with a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Adorno is currently detained at the police headquarters on a $50,000 cash bail.

His arraignment is scheduled for Monday morning at Dudley District Court.

The investigation remains active, and additional charges against the juveniles involved may be forthcoming.

Authorities have not released any further information at this time.
