FALL RIVER — A local man was convicted Friday of multiple charges related to a September 18 shooting incident on Choate Street.
Mahamadou Kante III, 30, faced a jury for his involvement in the event, which led to an extensive investigation by the Fall River Police Department’s Patrol Bureau and Major Case Division.
The case was successfully prosecuted by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
Kante was found guilty of assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, and carrying a loaded firearm.
As the court prepares for sentencing, Kante also awaits a separate trial set for Nov. 18 on another charge of carrying a firearm without a license for a subsequent offense.
Details on the sentencing will be released following the court proceedings.
