Multiple arrests made by RISP over the weekend

PROVIDENCE — A series of motor vehicle stops conducted by the Rhode Island State Police over the weekend resulted in the arrest of seven individuals on various charges, ranging from driving with an expired license to possession of a controlled substance.

Tabatha Sterling, 41, also of Providence, was arrested for possession of crack cocaine less than 10 grams following a motor vehicle stop.

Sterling was processed, arraigned, and released with a future court date set.

Friday evening saw the arrest of William Fothergill, 59, of Lincoln, Rhode Island, on charges including insurance fraud and attempted larceny.

Fothergill was taken into custody at 8:10 p.m. and later transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

Early Saturday morning, at 12:03 a.m., Joseph Cruz, 42, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was arrested for domestic violence – violation of a court order, based on a warrant from the Providence Police Department.

Cruz was processed and turned over to the Providence Police Department.

Lastly, at 4:03 a.m., Salomon Boga, 30, of Providence, was taken into custody on charges of forgery and providing a false document to a public official.

Boga was also processed, arraigned, and released with a court date scheduled.
