WATERBURY — In a joint operation targeting narcotics activity and quality of life concerns, local and state law enforcement agencies have arrested a Bridgeport man after finding drugs and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
During the operation on Nov. 12, the Waterbury Police Department’s VICE and Intelligence Unit, Gang Task Force, Auto Theft Task Force, and the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force observed a suspicious vehicle parked at 928 North Main Street with its engine running.
Upon investigation, officers discovered that the vehicle was unregistered and detained the driver, Gregory Thompson, 41.
A search of Thompson’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of $40 in U.S. currency, drug paraphernalia, and 179.9 grams of marijuana packaged for sale.
Thompson now faces multiple charges, including operating a drug factory, misuse of a marker plate, operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
He is currently being held pending further legal proceedings.
