WOODBURY — A single-vehicle crash on VT Rte. 14 resulted in severe injuries for the driver early Thursday morning.
Vermont State Police, along with Woodbury Fire Department, Hardwick EMS, and Barre Town EMS, were dispatched to the scene near East Hill Rd. at about 11:53 a.m. under clear weather and road conditions.
A 2014 Ford Escape, driven by a person whose name is pending notification, was found totaled after the vehicle, traveling north at a high rate of speed, veered off the road and overturned.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered incapacitating injuries and was promptly transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center by Hardwick EMS, assisted by Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
