Manchester man faces DUI, firearms charges after family disturbance

EAST WALLINGFORD — Vermont State Police arrested a Manchester man on charges of DUI refusal and possession of firearms by a prohibited person after responding to a family disturbance call on Nov. 14.

Charles Petrovitch, 50, was pulled over at approximately 5:50 p.m. on VT Route 103 in East Wallingford following a report of a family disturbance in Mt.

Holly.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks had been dispatched to the scene and identified Petrovitch’s vehicle as being involved.

During the traffic stop, troopers noted signs of impairment and took Petrovitch into custody.

Further investigation revealed he was in possession of a firearm despite being prohibited from doing so.

Petrovitch was transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing and later issued a citation to appear in Rutland Criminal Court to face the charges.
