WORCESTER — Worcester Police Department’s Gang Unit officers arrested an 18-year-old man after responding to reports of shots fired on South St. on Nov. 13 at about 1:22 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found evidence of gunfire.
A search warrant was later executed at approximately 6 p.m. at a South St. address related to the shooting incident.
The target of the search warrant, who was already wanted for gun-related offenses, was detained as he left the residence.
Upon searching the individual, officers discovered a loaded handgun.
Further investigation inside the home led to the discovery of an additional handgun and ammunition.
The suspect was taken into custody for his outstanding warrants and now faces new charges including Armed Assault to Murder related to today’s shooting, as well as several firearms possession offenses.
