ESSEX JUNCTION — On the evening of Nov. 12, Essex Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving violent arguing and loud noises at a local residence.
The incident occurred at 9:32 p.m., when a concerned neighbor alerted authorities to the commotion.
According to the dispatcher, a female was heard screaming during the call.
Officers arrived at the Main Street home and interviewed the occupants.
The female resident confirmed a loud verbal dispute took place, but denied any physical violence.
However, the male resident, William Torres, 25, also denied physical contact, but officers noted signs of a physical altercation.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Torres on charges of First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault.
He was processed at the Essex Police Department.
Chittenden County Court subsequently released Torres with the condition that he not return to the residence or contact the victim.
Torres was given a flash citation to appear in court on Nov. 13.
