NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Police Department issued a public advisory on Nov. 12 warning residents about scam phone calls from individuals posing as local police officers and asking for money.

Authorities confirmed that several people reported receiving unsolicited calls from someone claiming to be with the Naugatuck Police.

The caller reportedly asks for monetary donations or payments.

The department clarified that these calls are not legitimate and do not originate from their officers or affiliates.
