ESSEX JUNCTION — On Tuesday, November 12, at 2:37 p.m., Essex Police were called to Railroad Avenue after receiving a report of an assault.
According to the Essex Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find a female victim who had been punched and kicked.
The investigation identified the assailant as Mack Meredith, 33, of Essex Junction, who had attacked his partner.
Meredith was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault.
He was taken to the Essex Police Department for processing.
The Chittenden County Court later ordered Meredith’s release with conditions prohibiting him from returning to the residence or making any contact with the victim.
Additionally, Meredith was given a flash citation for a court appearance scheduled for November 13.
Due to Meredith’s current probation status, Probation and Parole were notified, and Meredith was subsequently detained at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in Saint Albans.
The incident remains under investigation, and further details have not been released.
