Medford police arrest second suspect in November shooting

MEDFORD — An 18-year-old Cambridge man was arrested today in Dorchester in connection with a shooting that occurred last November on Boston Avenue.

Sinai Stephens is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery with a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license, following the Nov. 1 incident, according to Medford Police Department officials.

The shooting took place around 1 a.m. when two individuals reportedly fired multiple shots at a victim during an altercation near 364 Boston Avenue.

Although no injuries were reported, responding officers located a firearm and several shell casings at the scene.

Stephens’s arrest was the result of collaborative efforts by Medford police detectives, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and the Boston Police Department.

A 16-year-old from Cambridge was previously taken into custody on Nov. 5 in relation to the shooting.
