BOSTON — Three men were arrested and two firearms were recovered following a tumultuous incident late Friday night, where officers responded to reports of an officer in trouble at 485 Canterbury Street.

Boston Police Department officials said the call for help came at about 11:37 p.m., when officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) and District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) were alerted to an officer trapped inside his vehicle by a crowd that was jumping on the car and banging on the windows.

Arriving at the scene, police found Canterbury Street blocked by over a hundred vehicles.

As officers made their way to their colleague, the crowd dispersed, and the officer, a Department of Youth Services Corrections Officer, was found unharmed after an altercation where his vehicle was blocked and hit by another car.

During the chaos, police observed one of the suspects enter a car without a front license plate.

After refusing to provide identification and attempting to flee, nearly hitting officers, the suspect and his passengers were detained.

A subsequent vehicle search yielded a firearm and various car-related items.

Elsewhere, as officers worked to clear the area, they discovered a vehicle hidden off the road with two occupants who provided false names and were unable to show identification.

A stolen vehicle check and a pat frisk led to the discovery of a second firearm and additional stolen license plates.

Alan Ridenour, 19, of Marlboro, Mario Florian, 19, of Ashland, and Geraldo Colon, 21, of Framingham, were taken into custody facing multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.

Florian was also found with approximately $6,680.

The suspects are set to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
