ST. JOHNSBURY — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Lyndonville woman for providing false information and an active warrant, according to the St. Johnsbury Police Department.

On Nov. 10 at 6:24 p.m., police stopped a red 2019 Ram 1500 driven by Shawn Rich at the intersection of Cliff Street and Central Street.

Sergeant Cleary and Officer Hendry, who were searching for Rich in connection with a recent criminal incident, encountered passenger Kathleen Hale during the stop.

Hale, 34, initially gave a false date of birth twice to the officers.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Hale had an outstanding arrest warrant.

She was taken into custody, processed at the police department, and later lodged at Northeast Regional Correctional Facility with a bail set at $50 cash or surety.

Hale is scheduled to be arraigned on the warrant charge on Nov. 12 at 12:30 p.m. and for the false reports charge on Dec. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at the Caledonia Superior Court.

The court has confirmed that there will be action taken, and a mug shot was obtained during processing.
