WESTBROOK — Multiple calls reporting a vehicle speeding through the Constitution Drive neighborhood led Westbrook Police to arrest a 25-year-old Portland man on the evening of Oct. 30.
At around 7:30 p.m., residents alerted authorities to a vehicle traveling at dangerously high speeds.
Westbrook officers, already in the vicinity for a separate call, responded promptly and spotted the vehicle as it turned onto East Bridge Street.
Despite attempts to evade law enforcement, the suspect’s vehicle eventually stopped in a driveway, and the driver, Jordan Young, attempted to flee on foot.
Officers were able to apprehend him shortly after.
During the subsequent investigation, officers discovered that before being located by the police, Young’s vehicle had collided with another on Bridgton Road.
Young now faces several charges, including aggravated driving to endanger, aggravated criminal mischief, eluding an officer, operating under the influence (OUI), operating with a suspended license, failing to report an accident, criminal speed, and refusing to submit to arrest.
