BOSTON — Three teenagers were arrested early Sunday after Boston police recovered a firearm and discovered multiple traffic and property offenses in Roxbury.
At about 1:45 a.m., officers from District B-2 patrolling the Grove Hall area noticed two scooters speeding along Blue Hill Avenue without helmets.
The officers followed the scooters and approached one occupant on foot near a residence on Edgewood Street.
While addressing the traffic violations, a second scooter collided with a parked cruiser and attempted to flee.
The police apprehended the scooter’s operator and a passenger who tried to escape on foot and hide under a car.
A “ghost gun” with ammunition was found discarded along the suspect’s escape route.
The juveniles, two aged 15 and one aged 16, face charges including carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and receiving stolen property.
The scooters, found with manipulated ignitions and missing registration, are suspected to be stolen.
The suspects are scheduled for arraignment in Boston Juvenile Court.
