SHREWSBURY — A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning left one person dead, Vermont State Police said.
The accident occurred on Nov. 10 at approximately 4:06 a.m. on Cold River Road near Upper Cold River Road.
The operator, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was traveling southbound when their 2019 RAM 1500 pickup truck crossed the centerline, exited the roadway, and collided head-on with a tree after striking a guardrail.
The vehicle was totaled, and the operator was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no passengers in the vehicle.
State troopers from the Rutland Barracks, along with the Shrewsbury Fire Department, Rutland City Fire Department, and Regional Ambulance Service, responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
