WEBSTER — Webster Police Officers were dispatched to a KFC / Taco Bell on East Main Street following reports of an intoxicated man threatening to shoot other patrons on Friday at about 7:13 p.m.

According to the Webster Police Department, SWCC Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls concerning a disturbance caused by John Reynolds, 55, who was allegedly acting belligerently and engaging in a physical altercation with customers.

Officers Donovan, J Brooks, Cedeno, D. Brooks, and Johnson arrived on the scene to find that Reynolds had left the location.

A police drone was deployed by Officer D. Brooks, but despite an extensive search, Reynolds was not found.

Witnesses reported Reynolds became agitated over the wait time for his food order.

In an inebriated state, he argued with patrons and claimed to have a gun in his vehicle, threatening to shoot everyone inside the establishment, causing panic among the crowd, which included small children.

Reynolds then exited the restaurant, presumably to retrieve the weapon, but returned without it and proceeded to physically accost another patron, who defended himself.

No firearm was seen by any of the witnesses.

Officer Donovan later identified Reynolds as the suspect.

He has been charged with threatening to commit a crime, assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct.

Reynolds is set to be arraigned at Dudley District Court on a date yet to be determined.
