TRURO — Truro Police Department is actively investigating a hit and run accident that took place on Shore Road and Old Firehouse Road early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred between 1:45 a.m. and 3:15 a.m., according to the Truro Police Department’s press release.
The vehicle in question fled the scene after the accident, leaving behind debris that suggests the vehicle is dark orange or brown in color.
Authorities are searching for the suspect vehicle, which is expected to have substantial front-end damage, particularly on the passenger side.
A piece of the vehicle’s bumper, recovered at the scene, has been released in hopes that it will assist in identifying the vehicle involved.
The Truro Police Department is urging anyone with information or video surveillance footage from the area during the time of the incident to come forward and contact them at 508-487-8730.
