1 min read

PELHAM — A series of break-ins at Pelham Self Storage culminated today in a dramatic foot chase and the arrest of a 29-year-old Dracut man, according to the Pelham Police Department.

Over recent weeks, officers have been probing thefts at the storage facility on Bridge Street, eventually deducing that the culprit was accessing the site through the woods at the back of the property.

At around 12:40 p.m., their investigation led them to search the wooded area where they discovered a man, later identified as Chase Bryant, amidst items believed to be stolen.

Upon attempting to detain Bryant, he fled on foot.

Although officers lost him momentarily after he crossed Bridge Street amid dense traffic, a swift perimeter was established with aid from the Salem NH Police Department and the Dracut Police Department.

The search intensified after a Lori Lane resident reported a suspicious figure in her backyard.

The ensuing pursuit allowed Pelham officers to apprehend Bryant.

After a precautionary evaluation at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, he was booked at the Pelham Police Department on multiple charges including Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, and Resisting Arrest.

Bryant was held without bail and transported to Valley Street Jail, with his arraignment scheduled for Nov. 12 at Salem District Court.

Officials anticipate further charges as the investigation continues.

Lieutenant Brian Barbato has encouraged anyone with information to reach out to the Pelham Police Department.
