SOUTHBRIDGE — Detectives and officers from the Southbridge Police Department conducted a raid at a local residence Friday evening, resulting in the arrest of three individuals on drug-related charges.

At around 5 p.m. on Nov. 8, law enforcement executed a search warrant at 41 Thomas Street apt#3, following a lengthy investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine and fentanyl in the area.

The operation uncovered quantities of both drugs prepared for distribution, a sum of U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from trafficking, and various items associated with narcotics distribution.

Sarah Wright, 45, Christopher G. Watson, 40, and Jairo Castillo, 41, were taken into custody.

Wright, a resident of the searched address, was charged with possession with intent to distribute class A fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute class B crack cocaine, and conspiracy to violate drug law.

Watson, also a resident of the apartment, faces charges of possession with intent to distribute class A fentanyl and class B crack cocaine, both subsequent offenses, as well as conspiracy to violate drug law.

Watson’s charges come after a 2004 conviction for possession and manufacturing of methamphetamine in another state.

Castillo, from 29 Hudson Ave, is charged with possession with intent to distribute class A fentanyl and class B crack cocaine, both subsequent offenses due to a 2021 narcotics conviction, as well as conspiracy to violate drug law.

He also has three open narcotics distribution charges.

The three were transported to police headquarters.

Wright’s bail was set at $500 cash, Castillo’s at $7,500 cash, and Watson was held without bail.

Their arraignment is scheduled in Dudley District Court on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
