Royalton man arrested, provided false ID to police

ROYALTON — A traffic stop on VT Route 107 near Interstate 89 Exit 3 led to the arrest of a Royalton man on charges of providing false information to law enforcement and on an active federal warrant.

Vermont State Police troopers from the Royalton Barracks conducted the stop at approximately 9:16 p.m. Thursday.

During the stop, Darrik A. Forsythe, 45, allegedly gave false identification to officers on the scene.

Further investigation revealed that Forsythe was wanted on a federal arrest warrant.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing.

Forsythe was issued a citation for providing false information to law enforcement and was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility pending his court appearance.
